Situated in the south of the department of Lozère, at the gateway to the Cévennes and at almost 900 metres above sea level, the village of La Garde Guérin is a very pretty little medieval township dating from the 12th century. It has a chateau, 14th century buildings, a 12th century church and some defensive walls. It is categorised as one of the most beautiful villages in France!

This walk are situated around the gorges, On a vast virgin territory of any modern construction: granitic cliffs, vegetation very varied as well as stony low walls, canals or hamlets, rich heritage and quiet paths.
